Kata is the heart of Itosu-kai Karate, for within these patterns, are all the basics you will learn in your study of Karate. Practice your Kata diligently and with utmost seriousness and you will enjoy your studies as your basics improve and become easier. Check out the Kihon kata pattern below.
Kihon Kata -
meaning "basic forms". All your basics from white belt to blue belt melded into 20 katas, keeping your training interesting and rewarding.




Pinan Kata -
from yellow to brown belt, five advanced kata teaching you more difficult moves and patterns.



   
Naifunchi Kata -
one of these special katas in 1st kyu and two more in shodan-ho.  Another new pattern integrating new blocks and strikes with a new stance.
