I want to Welcome you to the Craigmyle Dojo's Online home.
Our club began in 1996 in Craigmyle, Alberta, Canada.(see map below)
We trained in the Craigmyle Civic Centre which used to be a two room school as recently as twenty years ago. Now, due to rising energy costs, we practice where we can. My basement when enrollment is down or small places here and there until they too become unavailable.
The bearded fellow to the right is myself. Sensei Edwin Burt, recently made a nidan. I was lucky enough to find a great club (in 1991) in Edmonton run by Sensei Barry Menary, who started the club under the name of the Manatisowin Cultural Society. His fellow black belts Sensei's Ed Beauchamp, Sue Lindsay, and Elaine Radulski made things tough but interesting. Sensei Sue Lindsay and Sensei Elaine Radulski carried on the teaching soon after and I owe them a huge debt of giri for all they have taught me and still do.
